The City of Largo has ornamental street lights throughout the downtown area and streets leading to the downtown area.
The City wanted a yellow glow to their ornamental lights to replicate gas lights of past eras. Vootu developed a 2200k corn bulb especially for the City to replace the metal halide lights that were used in the street lights. The City needed 177 corn bulbs which made the special production run viable.
The City of Largo, situated south of Clearwater Florida, is approximately 24 square miles with over 27,200 residents. The city continues to grow, but growth is managed & supports the natural habitat. As new areas are identified for development the City of Largo ensures that services are available to support growth & improve the quality of life for its citizens.
