According to the US Energy Information Administration (EIA) electricity consumption in the United States was about 3.95 trillion Kilowatt-hours (Kwh) in 2018 that makes the USA the second largest consumer of electricity in the world, China is the number one consumer overall using 6.31 trillion Kilowat-hours (Kwh). However per capita the USA consumes 12,071 KWH/ year compared to only 4,475 KWH/year in China.
The largest consumption sector in the USA being Residential followed by Commercial, Industrial and then transportation:
Residential—1.46 trillion kWh—38.5% | Commercial—1.38 trillion kWh—36.2% |
Industrial—0.95 trillion kWh—25.1% | Transportation—0.01 trillion kWh—0.2% (mostly to public transit systems) |
Cooling accounts for the largest share of annual U.S. residential sector electricity consumption at 14.7%
Refrigeration accounts for the largest share of annual electricity use by the U.S. commercial sector at 13.9%
Machine drives (motors) are the largest use of electricity by the manufacturing sector at 48.2%
Electricity is an essential part of modern life and important to the U.S. economy. People use electricity for lighting, heating, cooling, and refrigeration and for operating appliances, computers, electronics, machinery, and public transportation systems. Electricity use in the United States in 2018 was more than 16 times greater than electricity use in 1950.
Electricity consumption in the United States is expected to continue to grow and the cost to produce this energy will only continue to rise!
With these facts it’s relatively easy to predict your future energy profile, you are going to continue to use more and the cost will also continue to increase! If this picture does not look attractive, then it’s time to rethink how you pay for energy.
Energy Management = lower energy costs “permanently”
How?
Energy Management seeks to identify and quantify all aspects of your current energy usage, including the amount of energy wasted. Only then can you prioritize all opportunities to conserve energy, improve efficiency, which collectively leads to spending less, in most cases 20% less on an annual basis, that’s a figure that 90% of businesses can achieve if they appoint the right energy management company.
Here is a real example of our results
Vootu recently received an update from one our clients that during the first 8 months following our implementation of energy saving technology, they have achieved energy reductions that created $94,806 of savings; they are projecting $140,000 annually!
There is no valid reason to not committing to reducing energy consumption by eliminating all of today’s costly energy waste, that’s eating into your bottom line daily.
Being responsible generates lower costs; positively impacts our environment and reduces harmful carbon emissions this helps combat global warming.
Being irresponsible hurts everyone including your business at every level.
